RAM’s mascot-led onboarding is personal and fun
RAM introduces its new App.RAM platform through Sam, a cartoon guide who greets users, leads a checklist of tours and calls each user by name.

At the time of the screenshots, RAM introduced staff to its rebuilt IT platform, App.RAM, with mascot-led onboarding. A cartoon guide waves from the first modal: "I'm Sam, the man, from RAM. I'm here to serve as your personal guide." The greeting itself comes in English and two more languages. A five-step welcome explains the new system, then a "Welcome on Board" checklist with a progress bar unlocks two tours, System Overview and System Navigation. Near the end of the 18-step navigation tour, Sam congratulates the user by name: "Well done Steven". The flows were built with UserGuiding.

Why it works
✅ A mascot to follow: having the same character lead every step makes the flow feel like one guided conversation rather than a string of pop-ups.
✅ Personal feel: Sam introduces himself, greets users in more than one language and uses their name, which suits a tool rolled out to a company's own staff.
✅ Skippable, even when long: the welcome runs five steps and the navigation tour eighteen, but every modal has a close button, and the checklist lets users take the tours one at a time.
