Zara’s new feature modal is way too cute to ignore

The Zara app uses a contextual onboarding approach to onboard users to its new wishlist sharing feature.

The Zara app uses a contextual onboarding approach to onboard users to its new wishlist sharing feature. When users add items to the cart and later go to the cart, the app prompts them with a modal introducing the new wishlist sharing feature and highlights the share button.

Why it’s great:

Really fun modal design - Zara’s new feature modal has a colorful design with a fun little illustration on it. Although app modals aren’t as prominent as website modals, this one is a great exception for apps.

Encouraging copy - The copy featured in the modal - both the static text and the button microcopy - is written to put the users in a good mood and encourage them to try out the new feature.

The finishing touch - highlighting - Instead of using a tooltip to point at the new feature, Zara uses a modal and highlighting, which is a great choice of UX patterns that won’t let users ignore the new feature.
