World of Wonders’ hotspots make the game easier to navigate

World of Wonder, a mobile game, does a great job utilizing hotspots.

In its nature, World of Wonders is a game with many menus and widgets. So, to make it easier for users to navigate through the game app, there are red hotspots used wherever the player needs to check.

Why it’s great:

Right use of UX pattern - Instead of a tooltip or a fully-fledged modal, WoW uses a hotspot pattern to serve as a reminder for the users, which is the perfect pattern for the job.

Not too annoying - While many hotspot beacons are quite annoying to users with their pulsing, WoW uses the color contrast to make the hotspots pop and not annoy users.

Not overdone  - The game also uses hotspots in very specific places and doesn’t overuse them within menus. This helps keep things organized for the users.
