With Notion’s 2.15 update, they started featuring an update modal that shows users the new features they have added to the platform. The modal is essentially a step-by-step onboarding experience but because it is offered as one modal.
✅ Great modal design - Because the onboarding experience is offered as an all-in-one modal, users are more inclined to go through with it; it feels like a one-stop experience.
✅ Visual support - Since Notion is a highly visual platform due to its general aesthetics, it is easier to explain a change through images and Notion is very well aware of this.
✅ Skip option - Notion features a “skip all” button that was needed due to the unique design of the modal. A skip option is not something new but it is always nice to have, especially if it is bulk skipping.
