Google Analytics uses a mini-tour to onboard interactively.
Google Analytics onboards its users to the new landing page report page with a 3-step mini-tour. The tooltips also come in an interactive form without leaving the main page.
✅ Short sequence, short copy - The copy of the onboarding sequence is pretty much to the point, only saying what needs to be said, but when the form of the onboarding complements this conciseness, the onboarding truly becomes less disruptive.
✅ Interactive - When users get to interact with the page, they are more likely to remember the change and what’s new, which Google seems to realize.
