Calendly’s onboarding checklist puts you on it right away
Calendly's Getting Started Guide is a five-step onboarding checklist with a progress bar, and each open step has its own action button.
Screenshot added to the library in February 2022; its exact capture date wasn’t recorded, and the product may look different today. Write-up reviewed 22 Oct 2026.

At the time of the screenshot, Calendly greeted new accounts with an onboarding checklist called the Getting Started Guide. The dark panel sits on the right of the Event Types page and lists five steps: Connect your Calendar (already ticked), Customize an Event Type, Check your Availability, Share your Customized Link and Schedule a Meeting. The open step explains event types in two sentences and offers a Create New Event Type button.

Why it works
✅ Clear design: the dark panel stands out against the white dashboard without covering the event types it refers to, and a round button in the corner closes it.
✅ Progress bar and steps: a segmented bar across the top shows five short steps, one already done. Users can see at a glance that the list is short, which makes it easier to finish.
✅ Good copy: each step stays to a sentence or two, with a link to a guide for anyone who wants more. The button inside the step connects the copy to the task.
