Around’s demo meeting onboards users with a video meeting experience
Around teaches new users its meeting shortcuts in a short demo call, where a team member on video shows each one and you try it yourself.
When users first set up Around, the video meeting tool, they're invited to an interactive demo meeting. At the time of the screenshots, Margot from the Around team appears in a video bubble next to yours and walks you through the basics and a few keyboard shortcuts: F changes your filter, H raises your virtual hand and W makes you wave. You press each key as she mentions it and see the result in the call.
Why it works
- A person, not a pop-up: a real team member on camera introduces herself before giving any instructions, which feels closer to a colleague showing you around than to a product tour.
- Nothing to break: the demo is a meeting of one (the counter reads 1/50), so you can press keys and try features without anyone else watching.
- Learning by doing: each shortcut is shown in the meeting UI the moment you use it, like the raised hand in the second screenshot, so you remember the key by its effect.
